"Scene reflected in a light bulb"
Dusk approaches, and it's almost time to turn on the lights. An old light bulb is switched on, and the filament warms up, emitting a faint glow. The surroundings are still dim, and the scenery outside the window is reflected on the surface of the glass.
This piece uses the surface of a light bulb as a canvas to fantastically depict a beautiful moment hidden in everyday life.
Incandescent light bulb
Incandescent light bulbs were invented by Thomas Edison in the late 19th century. Since then, they have illuminated our lives for a long time, but in recent years they are being replaced by energy-efficient LED light bulbs.
Incandescent light bulbs emit light by passing an electric current through a thin metal wire called a filament. When you turn the light on, the filament starts to receive electric current instantly, but it takes time for the temperature to rise and become incandescent and for it to emit sufficient light. For this reason, older incandescent light bulbs take a long time to become bright, and during that time the surrounding scenery is dimly reflected on the glass surface, creating an almost dreamy sight. On the other hand, LED light bulbs emit light using semiconductors, so they reach maximum light output the moment you turn them on.
This work captures the fleeting beauty of a moment that can only be achieved through a transparent incandescent light bulb.
